In an incident in 2023, a leopard had broken out of its cage in the Park; was caught after five hours
Udaipur, October 26, 2024 - The leopard that broke out of its cage at the Sajjangarh Biological Park on October 22 remained untraceable till yesterday, October 25. Search operation has been on for the past four days and every nook and corner of the Park has been scoured by Forest Department officials. Even the dense forest area of the 36-hectare Park has been thoroughly searched by the forest workers.
According to Deputy Forest Conservator Devendra Kumar Tiwari, the entire Park was divided into four blocks of nine hectares each for a search operation. One team was deployed to search streams and other areas. However, the search for the leopard has remained unsuccessful, leading to the assumption that it may have left the Park and gone to the Sajjangarh Sanctuary.
The Park has thus far remained closed to the public.
