Udaipur City District Congress Committee member Praveen Purohit has written a letter to Transport Minister, Dr CP Joshi; Vice President of Congress, Party Rahul Gandhi; and Union Minister of Labor and Employment, Mallikarjun Kharge stating the unavailability of proper medical facilities for around 2 lac workers and their families who come under Employee State Insurance (ESI) Scheme.
He stated that even after the grant of approval and allocation of 26000sq feet of land in Bhuwana for Hi-tech ESI Hospital, there has been no progress on the project for past three years due to the negative attitude of higher officials and overall lack of interest.
Praveen wrote that in Udaipur Division, ESI covers 2859 units, i.e. around 2 Lac workers who have around 8 lac dependants. In case of an accident or serious disease, these people do not get any medical help from the ESI scheme for which they have been paying some percent of their salary every month to the government.
He requested for the proper intervention from these leaders for the development of the Hospital.
