The congestion caused by numerous autos and other vehicles on City Palace Road is causing inconvenience to local residents and business owners. In response to this issue, on Thursday evening at around 4:00 PM, residents took matters into their own hands and installed barricades along the route from Jagdish Chowk to City Palace. Although these barricades were later removed, they symbolized the frustration of the community.

The problem escalates with the starting of the tourism season, as a significant number of auto rickshaw drivers gather outside City Palace. These autos remain parked for hours, creating a nuisance for pedestrians and causing arguments over overtaking. Despite bringing this matter to the attention of the administration a few months ago, no effective solution has been implemented.

“Details about the incident are unavailable. There is usually a crowd near City Palace, and it is possible that a soldier on duty has placed barricades. Anticipating increased tourist traffic for the holidays and New Year, starting from December 23, vehicles will only be permitted from Chandpol, Ghadiya Devara to Jagdish Chowk, and from Rang Niwas to Jagdish Chowk. Vehicles will be redirected from the Hathipol route to ensure compliance with the one-way system.” - Narpat Singh, Police Officer, Ghantaghar.

Even with designated one-way roads in the Jagdish Chowk area, the flow of three-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles persists in all directions. This ongoing issue not only hampers the daily lives of the local residents but also poses challenges for those visiting the City Palace. A collaborative effort between the community and authorities is essential to address and resolve these traffic-related concerns promptly.
