The 103^rd Birth Anniversary of Late (Padamshri) Devilal Samar, founder of Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandal was celebrated by the employees of the institution today.

Riyaz Tehsin, Secretary informed that, “At 10:30AM, employees and officials garlanded the idol of Late (Padamshri) Devilal Samar in the Lok Kala Mandal compound.  Religious hymns (bhajans) were sung in his honor and prayers were offered”.

Tehsin further added, “Devilal Samar was a great artist himself, who had strong of knowledge of Folk Songs, Folk Dance, Classical Music, Kathak and a variety of musical Instruments. He also directed and wrote several plays.”

In 1952, Lok Kala Mandal was founded by Dayalal Samar to shelter folk art. It’s been 62 years that Lok Kala Mandal is still functioning in the same manner and is pretty famous for its folk art display.
