One of the escort jeeps carrying 6 policemen overturned at Udaipur-Bhilwara route on Friday. It may be noted that the escort jeep was part of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla's convoy. The Lok Sabha Speaker was on a short visit to Bhilwara with his family to attend a function.

Om Birla reached Udaipur airport on Friday evening and left for Bhilwara around 8 p.m.the same day. He was given the Guard of Honour at the Maharana Pratap Airport after which he left for Bhilwara.

The jeeps of the escort team from Bhilwara had joined Birla's convoy from Rajsamand border. While on the way to Bhilwara, one of the escort jeeps hit a divider and overturned. The 6 security personnel of the police department in the jeep got injured and were rushed to MG Hospital in Bhilwara.
