Fierce fire broke out at city’s renowned shop Millennium 2000 at Shastri Circle last night at 9:30 PM. It gave a hard time to 7 Fire Brigades till they controlled the fire at 4 AM. The estimated loss is to be of about Rupees 1.5 Crore, luckily no one was injured in this horrific incident.

The reason could be short circuit as per the sources. The fire first started at 9:30PM however Fire brigade managed to reach the spot at around 10:45PM.

7 fire brigades and Police’s emergency vehicle VARUN was called for help. Fire Brigade of Hindustan Zinc, Nagar Parishad and a team from Chittor Nagar Palika also helped in controlling the situation. There were neither proper arrangements nor the fire brigades were equipped to handle such situation. It is estimated that water of about 30 fire brigades was consumed to control the fire.

Bhupal Pura police station in charge Manjit Singh reached the spot to control the situation, later followed by city’s DYSP, SP and Collector for inspection.

It is high time that the authorities should wake up and take some strict actions to build a rescue team which is capable of overcoming such situations. There is a need of well trained and equipped man force. Also, some safety measures must be taken into considerations by the business persons.
