LPG cylinder price hike

-Gas cylinder rates were last increased in December.

-The cylinder is now priced at 750/-, no subsidy available.

The hole in the pocket is getting bigger and bigger. In December, the hike of 100 rupees followed by this recent hike of 25 rupees, domestic gas cylinder prices have increased the dent on the pocket.

With fuel prices fluctuating every now and then, when the drop down is not even a relief; there the hike in prices of cooking gas has increased the irritation of the masses.

Shelling out 750 rupees for cooking gas cannot be taken in the right spirit as cooking is one essential part of life and without the cooking gas this task cannot be done. To add to this, even the subsidy has been eliminated. The rates of commercial gas cylinder have been reduced by 6 rupees. It may be noted that the prices of fuel in Udaipur had dropped with the reduction of VAT last week.

(India has around 28.9 crore LPG consumers out of which almost 1.5 crore consumers are not eligible for subsidy as they have an annual taxable income above 10 lakh rupees.)
