Water resource department has opened the gates of Akodara and Devas (I) for transferring water into Lake Pichola. As per news, now Madri dam gates will also be opened for the same purpose.

Pichola is likely to have a rise of half feet in its water level once Madri dam gates are also opened. It is yet another issue that Pichola bed would still be seen since scarcity of rainfall this year has resulted in lack of water in the water bodies in and around the city.

Akodara dam has a capacity of 60 feet and Devas dam has a capacity of 34 feet. Following this, 16 feet from Akodara and 6 feet water will go to Lake Pichola. As per water resource department, water has reached Sisarma at a slow pace. As of now, Pichola is at 5.5 feet and with Madri dam gates to be opened soon; there will be a rise of half feet in the water level.

There hasn’t been enough rain in the catchment areas. As a result, the dams that have been feeding Lake Pichola and Fatehsagar remained craving for rains. None of the dams have seen good water level this year which is a matter of concern for Udaipur.
