The devotees of Mahakaleshwar are annoyed with the temple trust and the issue of not being allowed to perform puja in the temple has become a burning issue over social media.

After the unlock, the devotees have been rushing to perform puja and jalabhishek in Mahakal temple. But the issue that has flared up on social media is that people are not being allowed to perform the puja and Mahakal Temple trust has been accused of wilfulness in this matter.

The issue flared up to a great extent and a meeting was held on Thursday regarding clarification over the issue. The head of Mahakaleshwar Temple Committee said that people have been prohibited from bringing flowers, prasad, etc. as per the guidelines stated by the government in the wake of the pandemic. There are some people who wish to create nuisance over this issue and they are trying to agitate the people.

It was also clarified that people are performing jalabhishek and proper arrangements have been made so that social distancing is taken care of. It is just that some miscreants are merely trying to hurt the religious sentiments by false allegations. The committee has demanded that action be taken against people who are creating these rumours over social media.
