The main accused in the murder case of Excise officer Yashwant Sharma has been arrested. Surajpole police have finally been able to nab the van driver who is also the main accused in this murder case. It may be noted that Excise Officer Yashwant Sharma was kidnapped, robbed and then murdered in front of his daughter’s eyes.

Deepak Od, son of Bhanwar Lal Od was arrested from Madri from his girl friend’s house based on details provided by an informer. Special Task Force reached Madri and arrested Deepak. Deepak revealed that when he read in the newspaper that the excise officer had died, he made an escape towards Kanod. When all his accomplices got arrested, he became a truck driver’s assistant and kept moving to Gurugram, Indore, Jabalpur, Andhra Pradesh, Hissar, Narnaul and then finally returned to Udaipur two days back. After getting back to Udaipur, he went to his girl friend’s house and stayed there for 2 days.

As per police reports, Deepak is a drug addict. There are cases of theft, robbery and fights against him. Police is now interrogating him regarding mobile and other items looted from the Excise officer.
