President Droupadi Murmu has granted approval for 76 Gallantry awards to members of the Armed Forces and Central Armed Police Forces, as part of the 77th Independence Day celebrations. Among these awards, four Kirti Chakra awards (posthumous), eleven Shaurya Chakra awards (including five posthumous), two bar to Sena Medals (Gallantry), 52 Sena Medals (Gallantry), 3 Nao Sena Medals (Gallantry), and four Vayu Sena Medals (Gallantry) are included. Notably, the recipients of the Shaurya Chakra awards encompass five individuals who were honored posthumously, among them is Major Mustafa Bohra of the Army Aviation Squadron.

Indian Army Majors Mustafa Bohra and Vikas Bhambu have been posthumously conferred with the Shaurya Chakra for their courageous actions in October 2022. In another remarkable instance of valor, Wing Commander Shreya Tomar has been honored with the Vayu Sena Medal for Gallantry. She demonstrated exceptional skill by safely landing a twin-engine fighter aircraft on a single engine, effectively averting potential loss of life and property due to a fire onboard.

Additional recipients of the Shaurya Chakra include Major Vikas Bhambhu from the Army Aviation Squadron, Hav Vivek Singh Tomar of the Rajputana Rifles, Rifleman Kulbhushan Manta serving with the Rashtriya Rifles, and Saifullah Qadri, SG Constable from the Jammu and Kashmir police.

Among the recipients of the Kirti Chakra awards, awarded posthumously, are Dilip Kumar Das, Raj Kumar Yadava, Bablu Rabha, and Sambha Roy. All of them were members of the Central Reserve Police Force.

Additionally, the President granted approval for 30 mentions in despatches to personnel within the Army, which includes a commendation for Army dog Madhu (Posthumous), and one commendation for an Air Force member. These commendations are in recognition of their notable contributions across various military operations, such as Operation Rakshak, Operation Snow Leopard, Operation Casualty Evacuation, Operation Mount Chomo, Operation Pangsau Pass, Operation Meghdoot, Operation Orchid, Operation Kalisham Valley, Rescue operations, and Operation Evacuation.
