Udaipur, December 20,2024 - Malaysia welcomed over 1 million Indian tourists between January and November 2024. This marked a 47% growth compared to 2019, before the pandemic.

The increase also showed a 71.7% rise compared to 2023. This highlights Malaysia’s growing popularity among Indian travelers. Tourism Minister Dato Sri Tiong King Sing said the free visa entry policy introduced in December 2023 played a big role in this growth.

The launch of new direct flights by Indigo Airlines to Penang and Langkawi also boosted tourist numbers. Malaysia’s recognition as the Best MICE Destination 2024 has made it a favorite for business tourism.

These efforts position Malaysia as a top choice for Indian travelers ahead of Visit Malaysia Year 2026.
