Janana Hospital, the women wing of MB Hospital, Udaipur has run into trouble with a video going viral that states how a doctor had slapped woman after child birth, abused her and also poked scissor on her thighs and on her stitches. Udaipur Collector has ordered an enquiry into the same.

A man Lalit Salvi released a video in which he talked about an incident that happened on the night of 4-May at around 1:30 am. He claimed in the video that a lady (his brother’s wife) was slapped while undergoing delivery and was later poked with scissor on her thighs and stitches. The male doctor was also behaving in an abusive manner with other ladies in labour.

Salvi, a resident of Sunderwas, said that the doctor also abused the lady outside labour room. He told her that your new born baby has died and that you will also die. This is despite the fact that the baby was alive and doing well.

Family members did not raise a hue and cry immediately and reported the matter only after 12 hours since they feared the well being of the mother and new born daughter.

When the video reached District Collector Anandi, she immediately ordered the Hospital Superintendent to carry out an inquiry and submit a detailed report. Dr Madhubala Chauhan, Superintendent, Janana Hospital, said that she will be investigating the matter and if found true, will take serious action.
