Presence of mind and swift action by a passer by led to the rescue of a woman who was drowning in Pichhola Lake.
As per an eye witness, a young woman aged between 35-40 yrs was seen to be drowning in Pichhola Lake at Udaipur, in the morning at 5:30 on 4 June. The eye witness, in his interaction with UdaipurTimes, informed that he was walking on the foot bridge at Chandpol across Pichhola lake, when he heard a man shouting and running towards the new Ram Mandir near Jheel Cafe situated on the banks of Pichhola. On following the running man, the eye witness saw that a woman wearing a yellow saaree was drowning in the water. Whether she fell in the lake of jumped in deliberately, is not known.
The man jumped into the lake and pulled the woman to safety with the help of the eye witness and a milk man who was passing by near the Mandir. The woman was unconscious but was breathing. The trio hailed an auto and the man who had jumped into the water to save the lady, got into the auto with the woman and took her to hospital. The woman is reportedly out of danger.
