Management Fest at FMS Udaipur cast in bad light due to fauxpas

An article in the Udaipur edition of a leading national news paper has cast the Faculty of Management Studies, Udaipur in bad light.

The Faculty of Management Studies or FMS Udaipur as it is known, is a premier Management instutite in Rajasthan.  FMS is organising its Annual Fest, and it has been christened Man'Fest 2020 this year.

However, a post in a leading news paper in the city, has published a comment made by Prof NA Rathore Hon'ble Vice Chancellor of Mohan Lal Sukhadia University, that has cast the institute and its reputation in bad light.  The VC of MLSU, who was also presiding over the event, in his inaugural address said that naming the event ManFest was an indication of gender discrimination.

In his address, he questioned the naming of the fest as ManFest, asking why it as not called Woman Fest.  Further he mentioned that naming a Fest like this indicates insensitivity to gender.  All of this cast the institute in bad light.

However, on confirming with Dr Hanuman Prasad, Director of FMS, UdaipurTimes was informed that it was a clear misinterpretation of the title, as the Title Man'Fest was an acronym for Management Festival.  The fauxpas on the part of the Vice Chancellor was cleared by Proofessor Karunesh Saxena, in his thank you note toward the end of the first day's session yesterday.  This was however not taken into consideration while publishing the news.
