In a tribute to his courage and sacrifice, Major Mustafa Bohra, who was a resident of Kheroda village in Udaipur district, will be conferred with the Shaurya Chakra. Major Mustafa tragically lost his life in a helicopter accident during a critical military mission in Arunachal Pradesh on October 21, 2022.
The honor will be bestowed upon Major Mustafa at a prestigious ceremony on July 5, 2024, at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. President Droupadi Murmu will present the Shaurya Chakra to Major Mustafa's mother, Mrs. Fatima, father, Jakiruddin Bohra, and sister, Mrs. Alifiya Murtaza Ali.
Prior to the ceremony, Major Mustafa's parents have been invited to Delhi by the Chief of the Indian Army, with a tribute ceremony scheduled at the India Gate War Memorial on July 4, 2024. The Chief of the Indian Army will lead these solemn proceedings in honor of Major Mustafa's bravery and sacrifice.
Following the ceremony in Delhi, Major Mustafa's parents and relatives will return to Udaipur on July 7, 2024. They will be warmly welcomed at Dabok Airport by Vallabhnagar MLA Udailal Ji Dangi, accompanied by representatives from various communities and political parties. This grand reception aims to honor Major Mustafa's legacy and the exemplary courage he displayed in service to the nation.
