Considering the increasing number of emergency cases, MB hospital has made a major decision to add another emergency unit. Besides the existing emergency facility, an additional emergency facility has been set up in the trauma centre opposite to the current emergency unit.

While the existing emergency unit will continue as it is, emergency at the trauma centre would cater to surgical emergencies and would cater to accidental cases. The new emergency unit started operations on Friday.

A 10-bed observation ward has also been set-up in the new emergency unit. Neurology, Trauma and Surgical cases will be setup for consultation here. In cases where patients have to be kept under observation for a longer duration, they will be shifted to upper floor via a lift.

The existing emergency unit will continue to cater to general medicine cases. This transition will reduce the load in emergency and will provide immediate relief to patients.
