Mehengai Rahat Camp: Less number of people are applying for the unemployment scheme

This year the “Mehengai Rahat Camp” witnessed less number of people applying for the unemployment scheme. The government is offering 10 schemes ranging from free electricity, cashless medical insurance to providing employment. Unemployment is the biggest issue in Rajasthan and apart from this large number of uneducated are also roaming unemployed. These unemployed people are not interested in Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot Government’s Urban Indira Gandhi Employment Guarantee Scheme. This is the reason a number of people are registering less for the employment scheme. 

Mehengai Rahat Camp in Udaipur:

District Collector Tarachand Meena informed that “Mehengai Rahat” camps are being organized in Udaipur district from April 24 to June 30. So far 16 lakh 26 thousand 537 beneficiaries have registered in these camps. 13,87,306 people from rural areas and 2,39,231 people from urban areas have applied for the ten public welfare schemes of the state.

District Collector Tarachand Meena also stated that total 280589 beneficiaries so far have registered for Chiranjeevi Health Insurance, 280589 for Chiranjeevi Accident Insurance, 135841 for Indira Gandhi Gas Cylinder Subsidy, 218818 Chief Minister’s Free Electricity Scheme, 20646 Chief Minister’s Free Agricultural Electricity Scheme, 248293 beneficiaries for Annapurna Food Packet Scheme, 120273 Beneficiaries for Social Security Pension Scheme, 146663 beneficiaries for Chief Minister Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, 8744 for Indira Gandhi Urban Employment Guarantee Scheme. 

State Registration: 

Till now more than 3.19 crore people have visited these camps which have been running for the last 16 days and got registered to take advantage of one or the other scheme. According to the sources, more than 57.57 lakh people have registered for Chiranjeevi Accidental Insurance Scheme.  for which of these schemes have the maximum number of registrations been done, if the first number is cashless medical insurance.

According to a government report, more than 57.57 lakh people have registered for Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme and Chiranjeevi Accidental Insurance Scheme. The government launched the Urban Indira Gandhi Employment Guarantee Scheme last year to provide 100 days guaranteed employment. So far, a total of 3.43 lakh people have got registered for this in 33 districts of the entire state. 

However, a large number of applications have definitely come in rural areas for 125 days of employment under NREGA. For this, more than 23.15 lakh people have got registered from the entire state.

Total 47.65 lakh free ration takers, Rs 44.44 lakh people have registered for 100 units of free electricity, Rs 32.92 lakh for animal insurance, Rs 24.61 lakh for cooking gas cylinder and 24.06 lakh people have registered for social pension scheme. Similarly, 4.34 lakh rural people have also registered for 1000 units of free electricity.
