Udaipur, December 19,2024 - A Mewar Heritage Painting Competition was organized by the Department of Fine Arts at Government Meera Girls College, Udaipur, in collaboration with Maharana Mewar Charitable Foundation, Udaipur, and Namaste India Foundation, Pune. The event took place at the Information Center.
The competition aimed to introduce future artists to the culture, traditions, and heritage of Mewar. It also focused on presenting Mewar's cultural traditions in an artistic and meaningful way.
Shyam Rawat from Mangalam Art was the chief guest. He stressed the importance of preserving heritage and educating the younger generation about our culture. He congratulated all the participants for their efforts.
Dr. Kamlesh Sharma, Joint Director of the Information and Public Relations Department, was the guest of honor. He highlighted the significance of art and called such events very useful. Renowned sculptor Hemant Joshi also encouraged the participants.
Dr. Deepak Salvi, Assistant Professor in the Department of Fine Arts, mentioned that 66 participants took part in the competition. These included students from various art institutions in Udaipur and independent artists.

First Place: Chhavi Chitrol
Second Place: (First) Deepika Meghwal and (Second) Akspari Chundawat
Third Place: (First) Suresh Chandra Jatia and (Second) Vaishali Vasita
Consolation prizes were awarded to Riya Tanwani, Kaumudi Lwaniya, Nisha Jingar, Jyoti Meena, Vishakha Mali, Bharti Khokhar, Chhavi Shastri, Supriya Joshi, Chhesta Mali, Nehal Sharma, Malika Bhatnagar, Saloni Jatav, Usha Bheel, and Ritu Gometi.
