10:00 am: US President Donald Trump has warned of striking Iran “twenty times harder” if oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz are stopped by the latter. This threat comes just hours after he said that the war could end “very soon”.
Speaking to CBS News on Monday (March 9), Trump said, "I think the war is very complete, pretty much,.... (Iran has) no navy, no communications, they've got no air force. Their missiles are down to a scatter. Their drones are being blown up all over the place, including their manufacturing of drones."
Iran has ruled out any deals with the US with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi saying, “I don’t think that question of talking or negotiating with Americans will be on table”. Large crowds have come out onto the streets across the country in support of its new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei.
Retaliatory strikes continued on day 11 with both sides continuing to trade fire.
Iran keeps up its strikes on US military assets in Bahrain, UAE, Saudi, Kuwait and Qatar.
The UAE authorities have cautioned residents to “remain in a safe place” and heed “warnings and updates” on official websites as air defences work to neutralise threats from Iranian drones and missiles.
