For his exemplary leadership in initiating Mission Kotra during his tenure as the District Collector and now as the Commissioner of the Tribal Regional Development Department, Tarachand Meena has been honored with the prestigious Skoch Award. The Udaipur Administration was recognized in the District Governance Silver category at the Skoch Awards ceremony held at the Constitutional Club in New Delhi. The award was accepted by Chief Planning Officer Puneet Sharma, representing the district administration.

Notably, the campaign was initiated in January 2022 by senior IAS officer Tarachand Meena, who was the District Collector at that time and currently serves as the Commissioner of the Tribal Regional Development Department. The aim of the campaign was to facilitate comprehensive development and upliftment of Kotra, a remote tribal area within the Udaipur district.

Subsequent to this, notable accomplishments were achieved in enhancing infrastructure and elevating the social and economic status of this area, resulting in substantial benefits for the underprivileged population of this region. Commissioner Meena of the Tribal Regional Development Department stated that the mission was launched with the objective of raising awareness among the general populace to ensure their maximum utilization of government schemes.

As part of this initiative, provisions were established to address education, healthcare, access to clean drinking water, employment opportunities, vocational training, transportation, agricultural and forest product marketing, and irrigation, among other essential aspects. The credit for this award has been attributed by him to the entire team involved. Additionally, Meena has been honored with the CM Excellence Award for his contributions to Mission Kotra.
