Chhatra Sangharsh Samiti approached the Vice Chancellor of Mohan Lal Sukhadia University today appealing for improvements in certain processes related to the election processes.

They raised the issue that in the past few elections, the number of cancelled votes has increased, which puts a question mark on the election process of the University.

Following were the demands of the CSS:

• Performa of the voting mannerism should be designed in such a way as to indicate the way of a seal is put on each candidate insigna.  A copy of this should be sent to each student of the University.
• The space between the names of the candidates should be darkened instead of lined.  This will make it clear for the voter on where to put the seal.
• Introducing electronic voting machines in the 2013-14 elections.

“We have requested the Vice Chancellor to accept the above demands in order to get fair results. The demands will wipe away all possibilities of cheating or ill intentions in the upcoming elections.  Last year we lost the elections only because so many of our votes were counted as cancelled”, said Surya Prakash Suhalka, Convener, Chhatra Sangarsh Samiti.
