The department of Journalism at Mohanlal Sukhadia University is going to launch its University Web Radio from the session 2013-14. MLSU will be the first University in Rajasthan to do so for the practical training of the students.

According to Kunjan Acharya, Incharge, Department of Journalism, “This web radio can be accessed by logging on to the university website mlsu.ac.in.  The radio will be having a telecast of a limited duration; but later it can be accessed through the record section also”.

The radio will consist of information regarding the University, interviews of professors, general knowledge etc.  Also, the students will be provided information by various subject matter specialists.

“The department is also planning for research work over this telecast which will prove to be a milestone for the students in future.  The web video, as the name suggests, will work on internet frequency.  A Web router is used in this technique for providing un-interrupted telecast to multiple users”, Acharya added.

IV Trivedi, Vice Chancellor, MLSU, said, “I am very happy and proud of this step.  The University will provide every possible help to the Department of Journalism to make the study of media more effective.  The University will also make efforts to launch a web television channel and community FM radio of its own.  With the help of this, students of southern Rajasthan will get practical exposure of electronic media”.
