An illicit mobile tower installation in a densely populated area in Old Udaipur has been debarred by the city administration. Following the action, the house where the tower is installed will be sealed in the coming days if the tower is not un-installed from its place.

The City Municipal Council prohibited a house owner to let a mobile company install their mobile tower on the roof of his house 6 months ago. The owner, defying the orders of the UMC, allowed the company to install the tower.

According to the government body, installing the tower is hazardous for the people living in the surrounding areas of Kheradiwada, which happens to be one of the most densely populated residential areas of the city.

“If the owner of the house will not co-operatively take down the tower, the house will be seized by the UMC officials,” said Rajni Dangi, Chairperson, UMC.

The house owner was notified twice by the UMC officials earlier in reference to stopping the construction of the mobile tower. The house owner’s identity has not been revealed by the UMC.
