Udaipur is set to have one of the first kiosks as part of Government’s initiative for scaling up public participation in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat programme. The kiosks will provide people with an avenue to directly make a call to the programme.
As per details from PMO, younger people from a wider regional base have started calling in to the programme. The Govt had earlier set up a website and a toll free helpline to engage participants.
The kiosks will be set up before each month’s “Mann ki Baat” broadcast to allow people make calls and will help PM get grassroots feel of pressing issues.
8 cities have been chosen for setting up kiosk in the initial phase. These cities include Haridwar, Gorakhpur, Indore, Puducherry, Dehradun, Udaipur, Bhilwara and Chennai.
As per Prime Minister Modi’s aides, the programme is envisage not have political potshots but more of anecdotes and people’s stories.
