Jashodaben, wife of PM Narendra Modi was in Udaipur a couple of days back to attend the golden jubilee programme of a private school in Dakan Kotda. Her way expressing her love for the school children however has drawn a lot of flak from people all around.
Jashodaben signed a Rs 2000 note as a goodwill gesture. This however has not gone down well with people since there has been a constant awareness drive going around about keeping the notes clean. Jashodaben had signed the note as “Jashodaben Narendra Kumar Modi”.
RBI had announced the Clean Note policy in 1999 and ever since then many a steps have been taken by RBI and banks for spreading awareness about keeping the notes clean. RBI urges users not to scribble on the note, specially on the watermark area as it carries security feature and helps in distinguishing the original notes from the fake ones. This action of Jashodaben has hence not gone down well with the user community.
After Sonam Gupta Bewafa hai, we hope it does not start a series of Jashodaben Ne Kyon Likha.
