The  hot , humid and sweaty day culminated in heavy rain showers that soaked the city his afternoon.The city witnessed good amount of rain,for more than 3 hours. The monsoon is back again in Mewar after playing a long game of hide-n-seek.

According to the weather department,Udaipur (city) has recorded nearly 97.6 mm rain in the last 24 hours,  although the data of today’s rainfall is still not known as the department  provides statistics from 8 am to 8am a day after.

Amid heavy crackling sounds of lightning and thunderstorms, major parts of city faced water logging on roads which caused unwanted traffic woes. There are traffic jams reported in other parts of the city as well. Moreover, the major part of city has also faced the problem of power-cut till late evening.

Rainfall  recorded in the last 24 hours, in various areas adjoining Udaipur district are as- Devas(Gorana) had a maximum of 178 mm rain while Gogunda had 162 mm. Salumbar and Jaisamand also recorded a downpour of 100 mm . The lowest rain recorded was in Kotra  which received 62 mm of rain.
