Former Head of Indian Child Medical Academy and famous pediatrician Dr R K Agrawal joined Mother Milk Bank at the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) today.

On the occasion, Dr Agrawal said that 44 percent of the total babies born in India are underweight and a few of them, which are severely underweight, are admitted into Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). For all these kids, mother’s milk acts as a life saver. Mother’s Milk is a kind of medicine and power drink for infants, which has not yet been developed in the laboratory.

To have a supply of mother’s milk in critical situations, Maa Bhagwati Vikas Sansthan has been working to establish Rajasthan’s first Mother Milk Bank at RNT Medical College’s Pannadhaye Women’s Hospital. Dr Agrawal will provide his services for free at the post of COO of Milk Bank.
