Mohan Lal Sukhadia University (MLSU) and Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT) have agreed to write-off the land required for Elevated Road Project to Urban Improvement Trust (UIT), whereby the construction work will be initiated tentatively by end of 2014. The much needed elevated road project progressed with the recent approval of acquiring land from MLSU and MPUAT, the over bridge is proposed to be constructed between Court Chouraha and Udiapol Bus Stand. Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the same is under process and expected to be available later this year. According to Anil Nepalia, Ex.En., UIT, a survey was organised few months back which suggested the feasibility of proposed flyover passing over the university’s campus, regarding which a meeting was called by Divisional Commissioner in the presence of Vice Chancellors of both the Universities. Sources inform that though UIT has received required land for the construction of Elevated Road, yet the authority will still have to overcome some more technical hurdles, including shifting of power cables and utility lines falling under the route plan.
