-Nehru Park has been lying in an abandoned state since lockdown.

-Boating will begin for Nehru Park after the facelift.

Good news for Udaipurites !! Nehru Park will undergo development work soon and the public can avail the facility of boating once this beautification work is done. It may be noted that Nehru Park is lying in an abandoned state since lockdown and has lost its natural beauty to a great extent.

In a meeting held between Municipal Corporation and PWD on Friday, it was decided that Nehru Park and Gulab Bagh will be taken over by the Municipal Corporation. Once the procedure of takeover is complete, Municipal Corporation will hand over the responsibility of Nehru Park to UIT for the development works.

UIT will be responsible for the beautification of this garden for which plans are already in the pipeline, post which boating facilities will also begin. The issue of handing over these 2 main parks of the city to Municipal Corporation was lying unsolved since past 7 years. Nehru Park has been in a bad state since lockdown, it needs its beauty back. It is one of the most beautiful parks in the city and the fact that is in the lake attracts the tourists to a great extent. Once the facelift is done and boating begins, it will be an added advantage from tourism point of view.

Similarly Gulab Bagh will also be taken care of by the Municipal Corporation and gain its greenery back. Gulab Bagh is known as the oxygen hub of the city, visited by people for their morning and evening walks, a good centre for migratory birds and a centre for children’s entertainment. Bird Park is likely to gain speed and the new toy-train project is also quite likely to complete soon.
