The Udaipur Municipal Corporation it seems has once again pounced upon Illegal advertising banners and hoardings in a big way. It has been sometime since this activity had commenced, but still, the encroachments were still painting the town.

Under the directions of Samar Singh Babel, Executive Engineer, Municipal Corporation, the UMC attacked illegal advertisements across New Fatehpura today.

Around 165 hoardings and banners were seized and the owners were given the notice. Penalty will also be slapped on all offenders.

At 11 am today, a team of Municipal Corporation commenced their operations from Hukam Restaurant area and passed through UIT Bridge, Sukhadia Circle, Panchwati, etc.

Udaipur is highly affected by illegal advertisements as companies and businesses are openly putting promotional advertisements without legal permissions from the authority.

This has happened time and again, but once the illegal hoardings are removed by the UMC, we see them come up again. Is it because the public and corporate are least bothered about the administrative bodies OR is this a window dressing done by the Corporation to show that they are active and doing something once in a while?

How many times have Helmets become compulsory and how many people have taken the Penalty Hit….again the concept dies down…it seems that the Police and Administration are least interested in imposing any controls with the required diligence and continuity.
