Members of Muslim Mahasabha protested outside the District Collector’s office in relation to communal riots that had occurred in the last few years where the Muslim minority communities were specifically targeted by the majority community.

They comprehensively demanded the implementation of Communal Riot Bill and handed over a memorandum in the name of Prime Minister of India.

Nearly 100 men dressed in traditional attire gathered outside the Collector’s office today morning and staged dharna with slogans against authorities and claimed that they had failed to protect their lives and homes in several riots which took place in Banswara, Rajsamand, Dungarpur, Kapasan, Kunhadi and Rashmi areas of Rajasthan in the last 2 years.

Muslim protestors burnt figurers of politicians to express their anger. Haji Yusuf Khan regional president of the group said, “The most worrisome thing for us is that many of the places where our houses and shops had been torched by the mob happened in front of Police force.”

“We want to know that why Police always work like anti-Muslims? Why government and our leaders are ignoring us?” said Yusuf Khan.

The 3 page memorandum has also mentioned the recent incident that happened during Ganesh Visarjan at Sarwad Sharif where several copies of Holy Quran were burnt in front of Police force. The letter also throw light on alleged Muslim massacre at Gopalgarh where unknown number of people were killed but the authority has failed to disclose the exact number of casualties so far.

Muslim Mahasabha has put several demands in order to protect the Muslims, their business and homes in the state. Furthermore, they also demanded for CBI inspection on Gopalgarh incident.
