
Muslim community of Udaipur will celebrate the festival of Eid ul-Adha tomorrow on Monday following the Eid Prayers at several Masjids throughout the city. Eid ul Adha is celebrated on the 10
th day of Islamic month Dhu al-Hijjah. The day has both religious and cultural significance among the Muslims and celebrated as the day of sacrifice and submission towards God. The day is mainly celebrated as a commemoration of Prophet Ibrahim for his willingness to sacrifice his beloved son Ishmael. Following the Eid Prayers, Muslim devotees will indulge in greeting each other and conducting the most important tradition of sacrificing animal (goat or lamb) in the name of God. Udaipur administration with local community organization has done special arrangements for Eid Prayers at Chetak’s Paltan Masjid.
