The COVID-19 lockdown has been extended by another 14 days beyond 4 May.

Ministry of Home of Affairs has issued new guidelines on activities that will be allowed/disallowed during the next 14 days after 4 May, based on the risk profiling of districts.  The districts were earlier classified under red, orang and green. The lockdown will be stringent and will be status quo in the red  zones, while for orange and green there will be considerable relaxations.

Under the new guidelines, a limited number of activities will remain prohibited irrespective of the zone classification.

Travel by Rail, Air, Bus, Metro and interstate travel will be disallowed for the next 14 days  after 4 May.

Schools, colleges and other educational and training/ coaching institutions; hospitality services, including hotels and restaurants; places of large public gatherings, such as cinema halls, malls, gyms and sports complexes will also stay shut.

The government will also not allow social, political, cultural and other kinds of gatherings; and, religious places/ places of worship.

Movement of people by air, rail and road will be allowed for select purposes and for purposes as permitted by the home ministry.
