Navratna Complex area in Bhuwana, known as a posh area, is currently facing severe sanitation issues. Despite its upscale reputation, the lanes reveal the conditions of a slum, with piles of garbage openly scattered on the streets.
The garbage is not just a day's accumulation but has been gathering for many days. The recent rains have made the situation worse, creating an unbearable stench that makes it difficult to stand in the area even for a moment.
Pedestrians and residents coming out of their flats cover their noses with cloth while stepping outside. Upon investigation, it was found that this area falls under the Panchayat, which has neglected cleanliness. The street has turned into a dumping yard.
UDA Did Cleaning
The Udaipur Development Authority (UDA) did some cleaning for a few days, but due to the absence of a tender, the maintenance stopped. Consequently, this posh area has once again become a garbage dump. The UDA has now handed over the cleaning responsibility of this area and the entire city to the Municipal Corporation.
Door-To-Door Garbage Collection
Municipal officials have announced that tenders have been called, and work orders will be issued soon. Once the work begins, there will be cleaning twice a day, and door-to-door garbage collection vehicles will reach every house.
Residents Dumping Garbage on Streets
Currently, in the absence of these garbage collection vehicles, local people are dumping garbage on the streets. People come in their vehicles, dump the garbage, and move on. Some flat residents are even throwing garbage directly onto the street from their windows.
