In recent news amid the NEET UG 2024 exam controversy, four individuals from Bihar have been arrested for leaking the National Eligibility-Cum-Entrance Test (NEET) question paper. The arrests include three aspirants: Anurag Yadav, Nitish Kumar, Amit Anand and Sikandar Yadavendu, a junior engineer at the Danapur municipal corporation.
The arrests followed confessions from the suspects. They admitted to receiving and memorizing the leaked question paper, casting doubt on the integrity of the NEET-UG 2024 examination process.
Amit Anand, the mastermind, confessed that the leaked paper and answers were sold for Rs 30-32 Lakhs, as reported by ABP Live. Burnt remains of the question paper and answer sheet were found at his residence, strengthening the case against him. He also admitted to being involved in similar leaks in the past, highlighting the depth of corruption within the examination system.
Anurag Yadav was arrested after he confessed that the leaked paper he received matched the actual exam paper. All four accused admitted to receiving the question paper a day before the exam and using it to memorize the answers.
The Union Education Ministry has sought a report from the Bihar Police's Economic Offences Unit regarding the irregularities in the NEET exam. The government is committed to ensuring the sanctity of examinations and protecting students interests.
