A female neonate was found abandoned in the Shishu Grah at Chitrakoot Nagar on Monday evening. On one hand people worship the Goddesses, observe fasting and even look for girls so that they can feed the girls and gain blessings from the deities. On the other hand, people curse when a girl child is born in their own house. As a result, many girls are abandoned by the parents for the fear of being thrown out by the family as every one wants a son to be born. If this situation continues, one day there will be no female left to complete the circle of life. 
This female neonate found in the Shishu Grah was wrapped in a shawl and abandoned by unidentified. The child weighs 1.7 kg. The neonate as been shifted to the hospital and is under medical supervision.
