Parking capacity of aeroplanes at Udaipur airport is expected to go up significantly with the opening up of new apron. New apron is complete and work is currently on for connecting it with the runway.

Once the marking and light arrangements are completed on the apron, the facility will likely be opened for parking. It is anticipated that the new apron will become operational for parking from July onwards.

Currently, 5 airbus flights and 5 small chartered aircrafts can be parked at Udaipur airport. New apron will have provision for parking of 8 airbus planes.

A proposal for Rs 600 Cr for construction of Terminal 2 has already been sent to the Civil Aviation Ministry. It is being anticipated that the proposal might be cleared once the new Govt is formed. Opening of terminal 2 may also open up avenues of opening permanent immigration and customs counter, thus facilitating international flights.
