New Bird Species to Enter in Gulab Bagh’s Bird Park

Gulab Bagh Bird Park

Gulab Bagh's Bird Park is gearing up to welcome the new bird species by the end of this year. To accommodate these newcomers, the park authorities are constructing 4 additional enclosures, slated to be completed by August, 2024. Managed by RSRDC, the project comes with a budget of Rs 2 crore. Currently, the Bird Park have 12 enclosures sprawled across 3.85 hectares. DFO DK Tiwari highlighted that post-construction, these enclosures will house new bird species as part of the zoo exchange program.

Milestone Achieved: Revenue and Visitor Count

Since its inauguration on May 12, 2022, the Bird Park has witnessed a significant influx of visitors. With a total of 105,255 tourists, the park has generated a revenue of Rs. 22,65,299 for the department, marking a notable milestone in its journey.

Children Enjoy Free Entry on Bird Park's Second Anniversary

To mark the second anniversary of the Bird Park, children were treated to free entry last Sunday. A total of 470 youngsters flocked to the park, where they received chocolate gifts from the department. Employees engaged the children with information about various bird species and conservation efforts. Ranger Jayvardhan Singh Rathore and other staff members were on hand to assist. Moreover, upcoming events include free entry for children on Turtle Day (May 23) and Parrot Day (May 31), with educational sessions on birds planned.

Current and Future 

Presently, the Bird Park is home to a variety of bird species such as Green avadavat, Red avadavat, Blue-breasted Kingfisher, and more. Additionally, plans are underway to introduce new species like Grey Junglefowl, Black Francolin, Silver Pheasant, and others by the year's end.
