Sitharaman noted the significant contribution of the cement, tire, fertilizer, and mineral sectors to GST revenue in Udaipur, with smaller industries also on the rise. She pointed out that mobile apps have improved export-import processes. In Udaipur, the highest GST revenue comes from zinc, followed by cold drinks and pan masala. The minister also introduced the Ice Tab app, designed to help importers and exporters with immediate shipping.

Regarding the new GST building, Sitharaman revealed that it was completed at Rs 32 crore, although Rs 42 crore was initially approved. She emphasized the need for quick resolution of taxpayers issues to prevent minor doubts from escalating into problems. She also noted that GST officials should be proactive in assisting taxpayers to support business growth.

Central Board of Direct Taxes Chairman Sanjay Agarwal highlighted that the new building includes features for taxpayer convenience and environmental considerations, and provided updates on GST collection.

During her visit, Sitharaman met with young entrepreneurs and painter Suraj Soni at Hotel Devigarh. MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat introduced Soni, who presented a Pichwai painting of Lord Srinathji. Sitharaman was impressed by the artwork and expressed interest in placing it in her prayer room. She also showed keen interest in Soni’s collection of books on Pichwai.
