Prime Minister Announces Constitution of High-powered Task Force on Examination Reforms - Watch the Announcement Here
UdaipurTimes, July 27 | Government News Updates: Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on July 26 that a high-powered task force on examination reforms under the leadership of Nandan Nilekani has been constituted. This was being done in the light of recent negative developments that raised questions on the current framework and that this new developments would lead to making the ecosystem transparent, reliable and technology driven.
The other members of the task force headed by Nandand Nilekani, are S. Somanath (former ISRO Chairman), Tapan Deka (former IB Director), V. Kamakoti (Director, IIT Madras), Anita Karwal (former Education Secretary), and Amrit Lal Meena (logistics expert).
The PM added that technology integration would ensure a leak-proof system and a foolproof examination process. He added that the National Testing Agency would be structurally overhauled to improve operational credibility. All of this would be done on a fast track to ensure security and trust in the upcoming public and competitive examinations.
He further added that strict laws will be enacted to incorporate severe penalties and fines for examination malpractices and paper leaks. The government would enforce rigorous legal provisions and fast-track courts to prosecute individuals tampering with 'students' futures.
