After failed attempts of trying to get an extension of the Ajmer-Haridwar train till Udaipur, North Western Railway is planning a direct train from Udaipur to Haridwar.

There is currently no direct train from Udaipur to Haridwar. Passengers need to go from Udaipur to Ajmer and take another train from there. There was a proposa to extend the  Ajmer-Haridwar train till Udaipur but that proposal ran into troubled waters for variety of reasons. Post that a new proposal for direct train from Udaipur to Haridwar was taken up and the same has received approval.

Post cancellation of the  Ajmer-Haridwar train extension proposal, all MPs of the Mewar region approached railway minister with the proposal and the same was sanctioned. As per Udaipur MP Arjun Lal Meena, the train will start shortly and one may expect the train to begin post a couple of months.
