Passengers flying on domestic sectors will no longer be required to tag their hand baggage and with this Udaipur now stands among the airports of India where tags on hand baggage are no more a necessity.

Airport authorities informed that the system of tagging hand baggage has been done away with which will also save time. The same has been applied at Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Cochin, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Guwahati, Tiruvanthapuram and Patna airports. All security arrangements have been strengthened at the airport and CCTV cameras will carry out the required surveillance.

Earlier every passenger had to give his hand baggage for checking at security point. After this it was tagged by the security personnel, then it was stamped and only after these procedures could a passenger move ahead. If any passenger missed this procedure, he was called back to undergo the procedure again before tagging.

Now with the tags no more required, passengers can move ahead with their hand baggage after the main security check and this would save a lot of time.
