A consumer has filed a complaint against a doctor as he did not lose weight even after therapy. As per reports, a man had taken a weight loss package from M/S Perfect Point. The package cost was 15000 rupees. Even after the therapy, the man did not lose weight. He filed a case against the consulting doctor in consumer court.

As per the complaint, the consumer had joined M/S Perfect Point in November 2016. While joining the company his weight was recorded as 94.5 kgs which is in the company records. The complainant paid the amount for BMI test which was 1100 rupees and was informed that the entire therapy would cost him 17,500 rupees. He paid 14000 rupees against this amount. The doctor told him that after 10 therapies, he would lose 12.5 kgs of weight. But even after taking the complete therapy, his weight stayed at 94.5 kgs.

He filed a case with consumer forum as per which the consulting doctor was penalised with 15,100 rupees paid towards therapy, 3000 rupees towards mental agony and court fees of 2000 rupees. The doctor has been directed to pay the above said penalty to the consumer in 2 months’ time.
