A fake message is doing rounds on the popular chat app Whatsapp. As per this message, the government is providing work-from-home jobs to the citizens of India. The message further says that the government is in collaboration with an organisation which provides these employment facilities.

Government’s fact check organisation PIB (Press Information Bureau) has declared that the Whatsapp message is fake and one must not fall prey to it and not click on any link sent in the message.

It is merely that fraudsters are trying to take advantage of the situation that lots of people have lost their jobs in the ongoing pandemic era. People are trying to grab more of work that can be handled at home. Hackers are constantly on job trying to fill their own pockets by sending fake links.

Public is hereby alerted that the government will make any such announcement only on the official websites of the Ministries and departments or through the official website of the respective organisation.
