Non Seasonal Rain Washed Udaipur
We thanked Indra Dev, the Rain God, this season for amazing rainfall in the city. Today, God however, had planed to scare us by dull atmosphere, dark clouds, heavy rainfall, lightning, chilling winds and thunder storms. By around 11.15 this morning, the sky turned dark with huge and heavy clouds hovering around. It wasn’t merely raining heavily but along with the downpour, lightning, thundering and strong cold winds worsened the situation.

By around 11.15 this morning, the sky turned dark with huge and heavy clouds hovering around. It wasn’t merely raining heavily but along with the downpour, lightning, thundering and strong cold winds worsened the situation. Electricity supply in various parts of the city too was affected due to heavy rainfall.
Though, the weather has changed and it began to rain around a week back, today morning, Udaipur seemed to be at the receiving end of exceptionally bad weather. While it rained 75 mm in the past one week, it rained 20 mm today morning alone. This intimidating weather faded away by around 1.30 in the afternoon.
Udaipur along with other cities in Rajasthan has been receiving non-seasonal rainfall in the month of November. The sudden showers a few days back took the localites by surprise. Though it rained for short durations, it rained heavy enough to drench those without shelter.
Water had accumulated in several areas of the city. Dabok in Udaipur received the highest rainfall (27.5 mm). Rajsamand and Mavali too received heavy rains. Udaipur will face similar weather conditions for another 2 days revealed the MET department.
What one can do in such situations is to postpone plans that involve moving out and sit and enjoy the beauty that rains add to this scenic city.
