The contract workers of National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) are on strike against several demands to the state government mainly the demands of regularization of job. Contractual workers federation with Contractual Women Health Workers Committee has announced a strike regarding the demand of perpetuation.

This clutter started taking place since 4th April when these contractual workers went on joint leave.

The strike took place on 11th April in Jaipur which went foiled after they were “ forced to call off” their movement from Jaipur city, later all workers from several state districts started protesting in their cities by sitting on  Dharna from 17th April.

Udaipur Contractual worker’s representative board has also given a memorandum to Hemant Gera, the District collector of Udaipur addressing to the chief minister of Rajasthan.

In the press note, workers initiated “Postcard Campaign” in which all contractual workers of district have sent 250 postcards to the chief minister regarding the demand of perpetuation. These contractual workers are providing their services in the health department at different designations. There are around 550 contractual employees working in Udaipur district.

“We are hopeful for the positive outcomes” said Gaurav Rathore –  District head of Nursing Department Udaipur.

To ensure the endorsement & to address the meet of employees union, the President of employees union-Satyaveer Singh Tanwar, Om Shrimali, Vice President of RNA – Lakshmi Lal Lohar, Secretary- Praveen Dewal, President of Udaipur nurses association- Hemant Aameta were present there.

In the letter addressed to the chief minister, NRHM workers have mentioned that they are providing splendid & divine services to health department from long time. Keeping the increasing costliness in mind, they feel financially insecure as it’s getting tougher to earn enough. So they have requested for the perks which are given to permanent workers.
