No health insurance and no extra allowance forces the students to put a halt on door to door survey.

A showdown was conducted outside the nursing college demanding proper care and facilities. 

Some of the nursing students refused to conduct door to door corona survey on Monday. As per the students, they will resume duties only if their demands are fulfilled.

As per reports, around 125 students did a showdown outside the nursing college on 20th April and refused to return to their duties. The students insisted that they would return only when their demands are fulfilled. 

Sources say that the students are demanding extra allowance and medical insurance, the facilites which are being provided to all other government employees who are on corona duties. They said that they must be included in the health schemes as well since they are moving door to door risking their own lives. 

It may be noted that the nursing students were allocated the task of finding if anyone has symptoms that could be similar to corona postive patients. The students said that health insurance scheme of 50 lakh rupees is being given to government employees but the students have not been covered under it. During the showdown, the nursing students said that they would resume duties once their demands are fulfilled.
