Udaipur, November 30,2024 - On Friday, November 29, 2024, Udaipur city MLA Tarachand Jain and Collector Arvind Poswal visited the site of fencing work along the Ayad River. The project, funded by the District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMFT), aims to protect the river. The officials went to check on the progress and understand any challenges faced during the work.
Problems with Fencing Near Cemetery
The contractor explained that the fencing was facing some challenges in areas marked by the UDA. Poles were installed on one side of the river, and iron mesh was used for fencing in some places. However, issues arose near a cemetery, where the committee wanted certain parts of the fence to be left out. The contractor and committee members discussed this with the MLA and Collector, who assured that the fencing would help protect the river without causing any problems.
Opposition Near Cemetery
The contractor also mentioned opposition from locals near the cemetery regarding the fencing. In response, MLA Jain directed UDA Tehsildar Dr. Abhinav Sharma to talk to the residents. If they still refused, the MLA instructed the police to take necessary action.
Visit to Durga Nursery and Road Expansion Plans
Later, MLA Jain and Collector Poswal visited the Durga Nursery Square. Expansion work is ongoing after land was acquired from TRI. They also discussed plans to widen the road from Kumharon Ka Bhatta to Shastri Circle.
Action on Road Blockages Near Lake City Mall
The officials ordered the removal of shops blocking the road near Lake City Mall. Collector Poswal also instructed to widen a narrow road near Lake City Mall and Subhash Nagar. The plan is to improve road access in these areas for better traffic flow.
