Open Gym Initiative to Launch in 401 Government Colleges of Rajasthan

In preparation for the upcoming assembly elections, the government has taken a significant step by approving the establishment of open gyms in 401 government colleges across the state. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has demonstrated his commitment to this initiative by granting a financial expenditure of Rs 18 crore 4 lakh towards this endeavor. 

According to the government's proposal, an expenditure of Rs.4 lakh 50 thousand is estimated in a college for setting up an open gym. At the same time, open gyms will also be established in the new colleges opened in the year 2023-2024. With which students will be able to take care of their health along with studying in college.

The government has recently made a decision to transform Amritlal Stadium Chainpura in Jodhpur into a comprehensive sports complex and wrestling academy, while also constructing a stadium in Nathdwara, Rajsamand district. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has granted financial approval amounting to Rs 36 crore for this project. Out of this amount, Rs 10 crore will be allocated for the construction of the sports complex in Jodhpur. The funds will be utilized for various civil and electrical works, including the installation of a synthetic track, jogging track, skating court, kids play zone, and both open and indoor gyms.

Furthermore, a wrestling academy and stadium will also be established in Nathdwara, Rajsamand, at an estimated cost of Rs 26 crore. A sum of Rs 10 crore is planned to be allocated for this project in the year 2023-24. In addition to the academy and stadium, various other sports facilities will be developed in the area.
